Understanding the Kit and Basics
1. Introduction to EOD Basics
- Role and Responsibilities: Overview of EOD operators' role in military scenarios, focusing on detecting, disarming, and safely disposing of explosives.
-
Safety Protocols:
- Always maintain a blast radius of 40-50 meters.
- Announce “Fire in the Hole” three times before detonation.
-
In-game Notes:
- Vanilla C4: Triggers all nearby explosives.
- Modded M112 C4: Triggers only the targeted explosive.
2. Equipment Overview
-
C4 Demolition Blocks (M112):
- Types: Taped, Desert, & standard.
- Kit setup: Each operator carries 5 of each type. Mission depended for maximum camouflage
-
Detonators:
- Required for the class: 100 meters of detonator cord. need at least 3 detonators each, for more clean detonation on multiple c4s
-
Minesweepers:
- Usage: Detect mines and clear paths.
- Detection Protocol:
- Two operators synchronize movements in a half-moon sway pattern.
- Priority: Equip jeeps/convoys with minesweepers.
-
In-game Practice:
- Loadouts setup and live practice in detecting, planting, and detonating explosives.
Part 2: Situational Awareness and Reporting
1. Caution and Environmental Awareness
-
Spotting Traps:
- Recognizing potential hazards in routes and convoys.
- Hands-on exercise: Set up mock traps for trainees to identify and neutralize.
-
Convoy Security:
- Emphasis on paying attention to detail while traveling in groups.
- Ensure EOD vehicles are properly equipped with tools.
