The Haitian participation in the IAU100 will be also in Naming ExoWorlds. We already started promotion of this projet for having names from our national culture and history. Please, visit our lading page hosted in Haitian Astronomical Society site: https://haitiastronomie.blogspot.com/p/nommer-ne-exoplanete.html or http://www.nameexoworlds.iau.org/haiti

As you may guess, our strategy is in 2 scheduled step:
  • Step 1: collecting name from Haitians (or anyone of Haitian origin all over the world) in an online platform (and also a printed version yet available): https://haitiastronomie.blogspot.com/p/propositions-de-noms-pour-exoworlds.htmlThe National Comittee wil receive proposed names from August 1 to 25, 2019 and will analyze them according to the naming rules of IAU100.This Comittee we have called localy "Comite ExoWorlds Haiti" has 10 members (20% women) leaded by an astronomer: Dr Rulx Narcisse.
  • Step 2: During all the month of september 2019, our second platform will be accepting vote for one name for HD1502 the star and one name for HD1502b the exoplanet (both in one extensible Haitian context): https://haitiastronomie.blogspot.com/p/platforme-ii.html

After the closure of the voting platform, the better elected 3 exosystem names will be sent to IAU (on november7, 2019) for anouncing publicly (mid december 2019) the Haitian name of HD 1502 (K-type star) and HD 1502b (gas giant exoplanet that orbits  at 1.262 AU from its host star) https://exoplanets.nasa.gov/exoplanet-catalog/6773/hd-1502-b/.
