Friendly reminder (from our Benefits doc):

Our hope is you will take around 20 work days off per year, but if you need more time for various life events or emergencies we understand. In addition, we also have 13 work days off for all US Federal holidays.

When you need to take off for a half day (~4 hours) or full day (~8 hours), please do the following 3 steps:

1. Request Time Off

This is just a formality - we'll always approve time off unless there's an extenuating circumstance. So please complete steps 2 & 3 right away, no need to wait for approval.

2. Create an event in the HQ

Go to MemberSpace HQ > Schedule > click 'New event'.

The title should be '[your name] + out'. For example:

  • Talk to your team lead about whether your team will follow Option 1 or Option 2 below:
    • Option 1
      • In the 'With' section, just include your team group (e.g. Support)
    • Option 2
      • Don't include anyone besides yourself in the 'With' section. Include any relevant team members in the Notifications section

3. Turn on OOO

Next, in Basecamp > click your avatar icon in the top right > then click 'Out of office':

Toggle the switch to 'Im out' > set your dates > click Save:
