brought to you by ANI and Dr. Pam Arlund

Click here to sign up and register to participate!

Original. External Invite Share Date: July 7, 2020

Greetings, friends!

Ever wish you could have been mentored by one the great believers of the past? You can! When we read books about other believers, we get a chance to learn from them and even to be mentored by their lives. We want to form a community of people who learn together, grow together, and reach neighbors near and far for Jesus together. In short, we want to fall in love with J-sus more and love our neighbors more. Together we will read books that will help us to become better Great Commission Christians.

How it Works
  • $30 participation fee per person covers August - December.  When you sign-up, you'll receive an email with next steps to finalize your sign-up.  The fee goes straight to ANI to help support the organization and it is also your opportunity to commit and put some skin in the game. Please note: sign-up is open only until August 15. Please don't delay.
  • All participants will be expected to read the book at least half-way through in order to attend the discussion.
  • We are inviting all AN team members and we are offering this to the public, too.
  • ANI Book Club meetings will be held via Zoom and will NOT be recorded. The only way to participate is to show up live.
  • Meetings will be from 7 - 9 pm US Central Time. (Not too late for the east coast and not too early for west coast. Perhaps we will see more book clubs pop up in other regions! Thank you for understanding!)
Book Club Online Meeting Dates (see book titles below)
  • Book #1 Discussion: August 31 - Hannah Hurnard
  • Book #2 Discussion: September 30 - David Livingstone
  • Book #3 Discussion: October 30 - Chinese Believers (Salt and Light)
  • Book #4 Discussion: November 30 - African Americans (Free Indeed)
  • Book #5 Discussion: December 30 (TBA- last meeting date of 2020)
What You Need to Do To Participate
1.  Pick which books you think you are interested in. (I hope you'll be a part of all the discussions.)
2.  Check your calendar to make sure it’s clear on the days the club meets.
3.  Order/purchase the books.
4.  Pray.
5.  Read the books.
6.  Pray.
7.  Come and discuss with others. Share your thoughts -- what you felt J-sus was highlighting
to you, and ask questions that intrigued you.
8.  Pray.

In Conclusion
Partly, I want to invite people to help me. I am picking books that have been on my "Wish List" for a long time, but I never got around to them. Perhaps others also intend to read more but never get around to it. So, the structure of the book club is also a chance to help one another.

The idea is that we would learn from men and women who have gone before us. We can learn from their lives and their expertise. We know that they will be flawed human beings, so perhaps we can even learn from their mistakes and failures. We will seek to apply what we learn to our own hearts and to sharing Jesus across cultural barriers either as Senders or Goers (or both).

That's it! I look forward to learning together!

So, register today, pay, get the dates on your calendar, order the books and start reading! I don't want you to miss out!  Feel free to share with friends, too!

Thanks!
