NC FLL® Challenge 2024-2025 Season Kickoff

Note: The FLL Challenge Season Kick-off will be an in-person event.  Attendance is free to all registered and currently non-registered teams.

WHAT IS THE KICK-OFF?
The North Carolina FIRST® LEGO League Challenge Season Kickoff is a wonderful place for friends new to NC FLL, Rookie and Veteran teams to come and learn more about this season's Challenge, attend detailed training workshops, and network with other teams.  The NC FLL® Planning Committee along with veteran coaches, volunteers, and teams will be on hand to assist with any questions you may have about becoming apart of the NC FLL® community.  Attending the workshops at the Kickoff is a great way to learn more about the program and to network with teams from around the state.

REGISTRATION
Registration opens on Tuesday, August 27, 2024

STEP 2: Once the survey is completed, the email address associated with 'Lead Coach #1' (as entered on the survey), will receive the registration link for kick-off registration.

​REGISTRATION NOTES:
  • Registration is limited to coaches, team mentors and team members only.  No spectators or siblings.
  • In-person attendance will be capped. Spaces will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.
  • One registration per team required.
  • Teams may split up and attend different workshops throughout the day, to gain as much information as possible.  All sessions will be recorded and posted in Basecamp for future viewing.
  • Workshop sign-up will not be required this season.

LUNCH OPTIONS & PRE-ORDER LUNCH
Note:
  • There will be a 50-minute 'break' beginning at 12:30pm.
    *Keep in mind, teams CAN eat in the lobby or outside. Teams CANNOT eat in the classrooms.
  • Note: Presenter and Kick-off Volunteer lunches will be sponsored by the NC A&T State University.  Options will be distributed in a separate email.

    Note: Teams may leave the site to each lunch.  Keep in mind that the break will only last for 20 minutes, and there are limited restaurant options in the area.  Going off site is not recommended.

FLL PRE-ORDERS Instructions:
1. The minimum team order is $50 before tax and tip.
2. Orders need to be received by Thursday, Sept 19th at 5:00pm ET.
3. Boxed options are sandwiches and wraps, plus side(s) based on box level, or a Salad. Read online BOX LUNCH menu first. No soups!
4. Teams must consolidate orders and submit one order per team and one CC payment per team.
5. Have your complete order and Credit Card ready when placing order or the ordering page may timeout and you will have to re-enter the order.

6. Starting your online order:
  • a) Choose delivery.
  • b) Do NOT Choose the group order option.
  • c) Since our normal delivery differs from the tournament times our online system will not accept the Saturday September 21st as an option THEREFORE choose: FRIDAY, SEPT 20th 2 pm, we will adjust delivery date.
  • d) Proceed with choosing the level of the box, side etc. NO SOUPS. Modify each order as needed. Names can be added under the special requests.
7. On the CHECK OUT Page: complete the Contact Section, Then Delivery Address as follows Address: 1602 Bluford St.

8. Business Name: Enter Team Name & Team Number

9. In Delivery Instructions: add your onsite FTC Contact Person and Cell if different from person placing order (both are required for swift delivery at the tournament).

10. Your credit card will be encrypted. Please consider tipping the Apple Spice staff.

11. You will receive a confirmation email (with questions if any) and a final email with a receipt on the tournament date.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES
The following precautions will be in-force on the day of the event.
  • Check-in will be digital and implemented via smart phone. 
  • Masks will be optional for ALL participants/attendees (children and adults).
  • Hand Sanitizer will be placed throughout the facility and will be required upon entrance to each workshop room.
  • All rooms will have a set capacity limit, and there must be a seat available in order to attend the workshop.
  • General Sessions will be streamed throughout the building, so attendees can watch in comfort.
