- After exactly a year of working with our new Association Management Database, it feels like we made a good choice. There were hiccups, and surely there will be more, but it has allowed us to learn how to make things more convenient for the member. While making things easier on ourselves at the same time.
- A recent example is our webinar page, where we’ve seamlessly integrated our GoTo Webinar list using plugins and custom coding. Now, any updates made in GoTo are automatically reflected on the webinar page, eliminating the need for manual entries across multiple platforms. Previously, we had to input information three separate times—into GoTo, the website, and the events calendar. Our next objective is to automate event postings so they appear on the calendar as well, streamlining the process even further.
- This month, we also decided to attempt to build a new hybrid conference platform, beginning with a new registration page. RingCentral (formerly Hopin) is doubling its prices on June 10. Our costs for RingCentral this past year were approximately $27 per registrant. The dollar figure is approximately $ 5,880. As a result, we have constructed a conference page that resembles the one we've been using (https://AIBD.org/design-build-asheville). And by having full creative control of the page, we can do cool things like send you from the Monday Minute email directly to the relevant information on the webpage. For example, in this week's email, you could click on a seminar topic in your Outlook and be directed to that seminar's description in the conference schedule. This new convenience was utilized approximately 90 times.
- "Operation Bus Mode" is still moving forward. My goal is to work part-time with AIBD at 50% of my current salary starting August 15. My LLC has been established, and I'm submitting design proposals for local projects. I'm also actively working with the A-Team to eliminate or reassign tasks.
