1.  Update from Chairs' meeting
1.a Empire shared collection
The Empire Shared Collection is a print journal collection with access given to member libraries; some of which are SUNYs. There is some variation in how access is managed at various libraries. There are concerns about how this will be managed in Alma and discovered in Primo, so the Chairs recommended forming a subgroup from several of the Working Groups, looking at how to best manage the collection, how to make it discoverable, how to manage the fulfillment in Alma. Erin Sharwell volunteered.

1.b.Vanguard training
The Vanguards have started Alma training. This consists of weekly calls on Thursdays, videos that they are supposed to watch before training, and sometimes additional training calls on Fridays. If interested in participating this, let Heidi know. Jessica, Jill, Rebecca, Nancy expressed interest.
Will the working groups be invited to participate in the Alma certification (a separate training process that will be offered to the Vanguards)? Heidi: if you really want to do it, we'd be open to having that discussion. It's a 3-4 week process.

After our meeting last week, we got access to the Primo VE sandbox. Go check it out.

3.Primo essentials training
Michelle has been working through these trainings, which are comprised of brief videos. She found them helpful and useful. There is a link on our Basecamp in the Message Board to the LibGuide with these trainings linked.

Selected E-LUNA documents from 2017
Jessica compiled a useful list of presentations from ELUNA. Links to presentations from 2017; 2018 forthcoming.

Currently permalinks in LibGuides at JCC are linking via Aleph system number; it will be difficult to update these when we migrate to Alma. Various Working Groups will look into this concern.

3.  Questions/ concerns about Primo from individual campuses
At the last meeting we decided to gather feedback from our colleagues about concerns/questions about Primo. Everyone is encouraged to add their campuses' questions to the Questions spreadsheet ( https://3.basecamp.com/3649838/buckets/5867332/uploads/975029402 ). A summary of concerns that we discussed follows:

How is relevancy ranking determined? Do we have any control over that? Can we preference certain resource types?
Anxieties about the trainings. Will there be practical training? General questions about the user experience. Who would we be asking for support? Will we be able to give feedback about the configuration decisions?
Questions about the format of citations that are exported.
Questions about display of licensing terms.

It was suggested that the Group could recommend a standard package/default customization for those smaller schools, and then if campuses wanted to change it then they could have that option.Could we make that a policy? The initial configuration for Primo will be done by Ex Libris. We could recommend Best Practices beyond that.

4.  Formation of subgroups to work on recommendations

There is a link in our BaseCamp to Committee Recommendations, where our concerns have been organized into different categories. In each category we've listed some of the questions we've been discussing. For our next meeting, we will focus on Group 3. Use the Google Doc to add questions or other data.
