Holy Trinity Parish is a Roman Catholic community located in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia that gathers together to make and equip disciples who joyfully go and invite others to Jesus. Our vision for our parish can be broken down into three statements: 
  • Explosively alive in the Holy Spirit.

Volunteers play an important part in our parish community, without the work of dedicated volunteers, our vision for our parish is at stake. This is why we seek skilled individuals with a heart to serve the Church to help make our vision a reality.

At Metanoia Youth Ministry we build our programming with conversion and lifelong relationship with God in mind, while growing together in community.As part of our ministry, we accompany teens in large and small group settings to help foster community and a desire for lifelong relationship with God.

Purpose

The Youth Leader is to provide guidance, support, and mentorship to a group of high school students within the church community. The role involves creating a safe and welcoming environment for teenagers to grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and explore their faith.

The Youth Leaders have a co-responsibility with the Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator for evangelization and catechesis of teens within the Parish. They serve as co-labourers in the mission of Metanoia Youth Ministry and Holy Trinity Parish

Duties and Responsibilities

Youth Group
  • Intentionally get to know the members of your small group through spiritual conversations.
  • Helps deliver programs designed to evangelize and catechise teenagers of the Parish.
  • Plan, promote, prepare resources, and execute occasional Youth Nights under the direction of the Parish Youth Ministry Coordinator
  • Help to coordinate one or two retreats per year with the Youth Ministers

  • You desire a dynamic relationship with Jesus. You want to have a vibrant and consistent prayer life and everything you do flows out of your central relationship with God. 
  • You have a missionary drive. Your zeal for souls flows out of your baptism call and relationship with Jesus. You’re on fire for the Gospel and understand the importance of sharing it with others. 
  • You enjoy getting to know people. You find life in constantly building new relationships with people of all ages and walks of life. You have an empathetic ear and desire to help others find their place here and use their gifts as disciples of Jesus. 
  • You have a love for and knowledge of the Catholic faith. You honour and uphold Catholic teachings and are committed to being a lifelong learner. 
  • You are a leader and a collaborator. You lead humbly and inspire others. You are driven and a self-starter. You know how to work on a team as well as how to lead a team. You have a sound ability to build relationships with different kinds of people.

Confidentiality Statement

Staff and Volunteers in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth must maintain confidentiality in all matters that come to their attention as a result of their activities. Maintaining confidentiality is a requirement to work or volunteer for the Archdiocese. Disclosure of such information without authorization is cause for dismissal. Volunteers who violate confidentiality will be ineligible for continuing their assignment.

Time Commitment

Weekly: Sunday 5-9pm
Occasional scheudled meetings outside of this time.
