The USDA-ARS, Forage Seed and Cereal Research Unit, Corvallis, OR invites applications for a
Postdoctoral Research Associate position to join our team to measure, monitor, report, and validate soil health, C sequestration potential, and GHG fluxes carbon stocks for the grass seed industry in the Willamette Valley, OR. General knowledge of soil science/soil health, soil greenhouse gas measurements, and interpretation is required. Preference given to candidates with strong computational expertise, especially those with experience in modeling using process-based, biogeochemical models. Funding is secured for a minimum of 2 years (GS-11, $74,137 per annum with benefits).

Requirements:
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residents who meet the criteria outlined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)(B)
• A recent (within the past 4 years) Ph.D. in soil science, environmental science, biogeochemistry, ecology, or related field
• Strong statistical and data analysis experience
• Ability to publish results in peer-reviewed literature.
• Strong familiarity with R
• Proficiency in general computer programming
• Interest in soil health and general soil science principles
• Preference given to candidates with modeling experience
