5.05 Conference Committee

The Conference Committee met twice during the month of May and earlier today (6.3). The committee is extremely excited to present the our 2026 D+B Conference in Cleveland. As with any conference, there are last minute items that come up and final details with the hotel, presenters and the finalization and confirmations. As in many cases, those interested in sponsorships have waited until recently to respond. I am excited however to report this conference will have more sponsorship/donation revenue than recent annual conferences. We are actively on top of those items, and look forward to the end of July.

Looking further in to 2027 at its meeting held in mid-May, the committee agreed that a list of ten possible sites would be sent out to members via an email blast. From the responses, the committee would examine the top three selections in regard to viability and affordability. The RFP process in recent years has taken place during the months of May or June, so while we are not behind that curve yet, the committee recognizes the attention that needs to be placed on this part of the conference for 2027. It is the goal of this committee to announce the 2027 site and progress with the RFP at our meeting in July.
