Olly Timing seeks Sydney based casual operators to provide a timing service to competitive swimming events, particularly over the summer swimming season.


About Olly Timing

Olly Timing is the first of a new generation of swimming timing system that dramatically simplifies and enhances competitive swimming competitions for venues, organisers, volunteers, coaches and athletes. Powered by our proprietary artificial intelligence software, we have been operational in Australia since February 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Olly Timing at competitive swimming events, including initial system configuration and trouble shooting.
  • Transport equipment to/from venue, erect, commission, remove in accordance with safe practices*.
  • Work with the customer and others in the event team to ensure timely and enjoyable competition delivery.
*Transport and physical handling requirement may not be required for all operators.

  • Able to use, configure and debug Olly Timing technology stack (Python, Windows networking, Gigbit ethernet, fibre, rtsp video) and hardware (cameras, mounts, cabling).
  • Swimming domain knowledge and previous relevant experience highly desirable.
  • Must have valid NSW WWC clearance and permission to work in Australia.



Performance Goals

  • Delivery of tasks to agreed specifications


Payment

$30.75 per hour + super. Paid after month end.


Shifts available

Shifts typically start at 7am and finish around 4-7pm (with breaks). For very long days some shifts start around 1pm. We can operate on weekdays and weekends. Most operation is at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, but also periodically at other pools.

We are busiest February and March, yet currently have over 50 shifts available from September 2025 to July 2026.
