Competition Report Mount Olive
Joshua Stout
Hi everyone!
while this weekend didn't go well competitively, we still accomplished a lot and had a fun event! Once we got the robot working properly, we played quite well defensively and even broke parts on 2 separate robots in one match!
if you're interested in in-depth explanations of the build, electrical, code issues and solutions during the event please check out the following posts:

Our final results are as follows with a breakdown of matches after that.
In qualification we finished with a record of 3-9. Our final ranking after qualifying was 35th with 8 total ranking points. While this clearly isn't good, it could've gone much worse and by the end of the event the robot was nearly fully operational so that's something.
Here's the detailed match breakdown:
Before matches even began we faced a number of problems getting inspected.

Here's the detailed match breakdown:
Before matches even began we faced a number of problems getting inspected.
- First, the battery cable was illegally mounted. This was suspected to be a problem going into the event and we made a good temporary fix.
- Our bumpers broke 3 separate rules and had to be nearly completely redone at the event. This took 6 hours of valuable time from testing and drive practice and is something we must improve upon in the future. It is imperative we read the rules especially when working on bumpers as they are one of the most heavily regulated sections of the robot.
