Working Group and SLC - Jennifer Smathers
Since implementation, some working groups have had fewer projects/documentation/policies to work on. As such, the groups sometimes function more as a sounding board rather than a working group. It has been proposed that some working groups dissolve and instead we would establish communities of practice. If this idea moves forward, may want to test as a soft launch to see what people thrive in an environment. It is possible to maintain both i.e. the working groups and the community of practices. However, if we think the working groups have outlived their usefulness it might be time to try a new model Next steps: ponder this proposal. We will discuss further.
SUNY Updates
- Discussion about the creation of communities of practices
- Almost ready to go live with article resources sharing in Alma. This hopefully will start in May
- LSP Advisory Board will be looking for three new members
CDI Testing
Still another month before launch. Michelle will post testing cheatsheet to Basecamp. There are some concerns from campuses about the results coming from the CDI and whether these are local issues or issues ExL needs to address, Michelle recommended sending any questions/concerns to the CDI taskforce for follow-up. Michelle will organize a "checking-in" meeting for the CDI in the next week or so. At this meeting, campuses can ask questions about the CDI or share their plans on how they plan to launch the CDI to their staff and the public.

Concerning the separation of books/ebooks. In the CDI, these will still not be separated. However, an upcoming enhancement will allow consortia to create custom resource types so the ability to separate books/ebooks might be possible through that enhancement.
