Good Afternoon, Board.

This past month I have put together a series of Chief Architect presentations to be presented over the next 5 month for the first Tuesday @ 2 of each of those months. I encourage all members, especially Board members, to consider presenting on a Tuesday or Thursday as a way to give back the knowledge we all have. My presentations and Members Helping Members campaign have been well received by our members, with many commenting to me that this is exactly the sort of thing they love as a member.

I have volunteered to remain on the board for another year, and to Chair the membership committee for another year, and as such will spend the next year growing the Members Helping Members program, as well as contacting as many local HBA's as I can, starting with the ones in my area and expanding outward from there, to grow membership. Steve and I had a discussion a while back discussing membership and membership categories, and this quote stuck with me...

“When someone is preparing a set of plans, at any level, shouldn’t they be both (1) certified and (2) a Professional member?”

I plan to focus on that quote as I put together a presentation to bring awareness to the AIBD, and what we have to offer the folks preparing the plans for the builders. Whether it's in-house design staff or trusted subcontractors, ensuring that builders receive the best quality plans should be key. The AIBD is prepared to help these individuals with CEUs, and other members are ready to assist, allowing us all to grow professionally.
