The AIBD Scoreboard has been further developed since last month's introduction.

November was a tough "inning" for AIBD and the numbers took a bit of a downturn. However, our overall membership and CPBD numbers are still strong approaching the midyear, as are the yearend projections.

The areas that continue to struggle are chapter meetings and introductory 1st-year memberships. Theoretically, one intro-membership is awarded at each chapter meeting, so it makes sense that if chapter meetings are low, so are 1st-year comps.

A new development on the scoreboard is the introduction of a "retention" formula. Staff is still unsure if the correct methodology has been employed, it appears to be accurate. Membership is slowly slipping month-to-month since July, which is expected to a point due to a 90 day "grace period" for renewing membership. At this point, the rate should be leveling off at its organic level.

So, how is certification reporting 100% retention? The program does not drop a CPBD when they don't renew, instead, they are "suspended" for up to three years. In the past five months, our certification director has successfully pursued and reinstated a large number of suspended CPBDs back to "in good standing" status.

Looking closer at the more detailed stats, membership is up 5% year-over-year and certification is up 5.6%, although both stayed stable for the past month.
