Create Your Cloud9 Account

Cloud9 is a browser-based integrated development environment (IDE). We'll be using it for all of the development we'll do in this workshop.

CodeNow has an account with Cloud9 which allows us to offer all of our students free accounts. To join the CodeNow organization, you'll have to follow a series of specific steps.

1. You'll receive an email invite to join the CodeNow Cloud9 organization. It will come to the email your provided CodeNow when you applied to the workshop. Click the link in the email.

2. Click create a new account.

3. Enter your full name in the text box. Make sure it's spelled correctly!

4. Choose a username. Use the same one as you used for your GitHub account if you can. This will make it easy to remember!

5. This step is very important. You must select the right answers to get a free account. If you don't Cloud 9 will ask you for credit card information at the end of the sign up process. For the question "What kind of developer are you?", select the answer "Student".For the question "How will you use Cloud9?", select the answer "Coursework".

6. Make sure all of your details are correct.

7. Tell Cloud9 you are not a robot!

8. Join the CodeNow Cloud 9 team with your new Cloud9 account.

9. You'll be taken to your Cloud9 dashboard!
