Work Orders in Alma (RMFG)

Notes

What is your topic? Briefly describe
  • Work orders in Alma. Members of RMFG are interested in seeing some demonstrations and examples of workflows, as well as the pros and cons of using work order for certain workflows (e.g., acquisitions-to-cataloging; cataloging-to-the-unit; preservation, etc.)

Timing: When do you want to discuss this? Is the topic tied to a milestone? If yes, which milestone?
  • Would be helpful to have this meeting as we're developing our workflows and still have access to our test db--maybe in May?

Scope and desired outcomes: What do you want to learn? What is the outcome you are expecting at the end of the meeting?
  • We're especially interested in seeing how work orders are created and how many times an item would need to be scanned over its lifecycle. The outcome would be gaining more information so campuses can make decisions about whether or not to implement work orders in their implementation.

How many people does this affect? For example, a few people at your campus, multiple campuses or the whole UC? Please describe the relevant audience(s).
  • Support from UC RMFG. There may be interest from other FGs as well.

How much time will be needed? If you anticipate a lot of questions, two hours may be needed. If you only need a brief overview, one hour would likely suffice.
  • 1 hour meeting

Would this topic be better for discussion among ourselves at UC to leverage the experience of the existing Alma campuses? Or, is this topic more suitable to be led by Ex Libris? *
  • Ex Libris-led meeting
