Handoff

Summary

  • After shaping team finishes the Build Doc, DT needs to review it before we start building.
  • The goal of handoff is for DT to get their heads wrapped around which initial scopes they're seeing, which scopes to start on first, and if any scopes are potential time bombs which should be explored more before starting.
    • A scope is a group of tasks that when completed together will make a meaningful part of the project done.

Step 1
  • Each member of the DT gets invited to the cycle project > reviews the Build Doc > starts adding all imagined tasks to one 'Unscoped' list in their team's To-do board (FE or BE).
  • For any questions that need discussion create a message thread. After we reach a resolution, edit the message and categorize it as ✅ ANSWERED

Step 2
  • Look at the Unscoped list and decide what goes together into scopes.
  • Create new To-do lists for each scope.

Step 3
  • Unknowns are scopes the team are not familiar with/unsure about. For these add a red flag 🚩 emoji to the list name so it stands out:

Step 4
  • Arrange your scope lists in the order you think they should be worked on. Focus mainly on the first 3 scopes since it's difficult to determine everything upfront.

Step 5
  • On the next DT call we'll review this together before starting the cycle.
