Hard-won insights from veteran activists that can guide creative action design.
Viewing Principles on the BT website, which seem most important?

We then discussed Principles in the BT Toolbox. Jim suggested that
Develop An Inside-Outside Strategy is a Principle we should consider. We could attempt to create an inside-outside strategy with local progressive politicians, e.g. Rinck, Strauss, Wilson, Zahilay, Borge, Mosqueda …. This requires that we build relationships and pursue collaborative campaigns. Jim suggested that we can begin by following their websites and subscribing to their monthly newsletters:
- Alexis Mercedes Rinck, SC All-City Position
- Dan Strauss, SC D6
- Girmay Zahilay, KC D2
- Jorge Baron, KC D4
- Rod Dembowski, KC D1
- Teresa Mosqueda, KC D8
Sara highlighted the Principle Challenge Patriarchy. “Given the urgency of confronting big issues like corporate power, militarization, and environmental destruction, patriarchy and sexism within our groups often remain unaddressed … If we want to challenge patriarchy, we must understand how our actions and assumptions are influenced by the prevalence of sexism in our consciousness and social relations.” Warren added that more broadly inclusivity needs to be part of our activism; he added that we also need music, dancing and joy, as echoed in the Principle Joy As A Revolutionary Force.
