Create Your GitHub Account

You will be pushing your code to your GitHub account throughout this workshop. You will also log into your Cloud9 IDE using your GitHub account.

1. Navigate to https://www.github.com.

2.Enter a username email, and password in the sign-up form. You should choose a username that you will remember and that is appropriate for companies, parents, and teachers to see. Enter an email that they have access to. You will be asked to confirm the email address associated with the GitHub account a few steps from now.

3. Select the "Unlimited public repositories for free." option.

4. On step three, select the "Totally new to programming", "School projects", and "I'm a student" options.

5. GitHub will have you verify the email you used to create your account.

6. Log into your email and click the included link.

7. After you have created your account and verified your email, you will be taken to this empty dashboard. At this point, you can log out of your newly created GitHub account.
