CDI Update
The CDI task force has found that the February release addressed many of the issues and concerns related to the CDI that were identified during testing.  While there are still some outstanding issues, the task force believes that the CDI is now stable enough for campuses to begin testing locally.  The CDI Task Force has scheduled training and Q&A sessions in February.   The plan is still to wait until the end of the semester is over before go-live.  No specific date has been set yet.

SLSS Survey demoBill Jones has developed a snippet that allows patrons to easily and quickly provide feedback on page loading speeds.  The snippet records the feedback and the information will be captured by the SUNY LSP.   The snippet will be added to the extended services campuses.  Other campuses who wish to use the snippet should contact Bill.  Geneseo has the snippit enabled in their test view:  discovery/search?vid=01SUNY_GEN:GEN_TEST

Print Books in Libraries
https://3.basecamp.com/3649838/buckets/2511260/messages/2373858816 Concerns have been raised about deduping of print and electronic records.  The issue is that if a library owns an electronic copy of the book, it's not possible to request a print copy  in the SUNY catalogue.  One option is to turn off dedup.  ExL considers this expected behaviour.

Open Access Links

Some libraries have reported problems where Unpaywall links to the table of contents and not the actual item.  Nancy has opened a ticket concerning on record; it is probably a  data issue for ExL to follow up on.  Occasionally there are also issues with Unpaywall opening the wrong article.  These issues should be reported to Unpaywall. On the Primo Listserve recently there was a discussion on how to add an Unpaywall link to the results page. Can also add to the front of their search https://github.com/bulib/primo-explore-bu/tree/master/packages/unpaywall#readme

Merge and FRBR Problems
https://3.basecamp.com/3649838/buckets/5867332/messages/2405941227
A librarian at UB has reported concerns about a major problem with Primo VE merging/FRBR-ing of records for the New Testament. Search for a single particular scholarly edition of the Novum testamentum Graece as published by the Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft results in 426 (or more!) "versions" which are not actually versions of the Novum testamentum Graece but of the New Testament.Nancy has submitted a SI about this case.  Michelle indicated that this was one of the issues the LSP groups would be taking to ExL support.

Browse search discrepancies A librarian at Binghamton is concerned about the differences between "number of records" for browse search vs "number of results" when you open the record.  This happens occasionally and it's confusing.  One example is for the Colour Purple which shows 5 results but only one record.  Erin will continue exploring.  It was suggested that it might help if we could suppress the number of results.Â
