CG Cookie V8 | BETA Testing guide

For nearly three years CG Cookie has been quietly developing it's new home: http://mavenseed.com. 

Mavenseed is not just the new home for CG Cookie, it's open for anyone to create their own Mavenseed site: personal blog, portfolio site, sell digital downloads or recurring subscriptions. It does quite a lot, if you're curious grab your own account here. 

We're getting very close to migrating CG Cookie to the Mavenseed platform, but first we need to see what we got right, and what could use some work.

Note: The current state of the site is in ALPHA. Meaning we still have a lot of work to do, content to fill, migrate, etc.. I'm more interested in first impressions and feature feedback.

Note 2: As a staging/development site we don't allow the app to send emails. So any activity that would require the app to do so will error out: email me recover password link for e.g.. 

Note 3: We did not bring over all media as of yet. Meaning gallery projects, course feature images, etc will be missing. 

What I'd like you to test: 

In general, I'd like you to explore the site. It should feel familiar to the existing CGC experience, with some notable differences.  It was intentional to try to mimic the current design with subtle differences for the initial migration, mitigating the complexity. We've got some cool things planned for down the road. 🤘

Specific things to test: 
  • ⭐️ Creating a new account. You may attempt to log in to your old account, though note not all of your data may be there. 
  • Subscribing to the Citizen Subscription using the provided Stripe testing Card below, canceling and resubscribing, 
  • Finding and watching streaming content, 
  • Updating your member profile
  • Create a forum thread, answering a forum thread, 
  • Participating in an exercise, 
  • Uploading a gallery project,
  • Create your own Playlist
  • Save something, 
  • Review a course

Notable changes

  1. Learning flows are now called Playlists, and you can also create your own! Playlists can be shared and followed, 
  2. Updated Profile page - has been simplified and we've introduced subscription badges, 
  3. Bookmarks renamed to "save". Save things in general or create your own Playlist from the things you save, 
  4. Exercise submissions are now private, directly one-on-one with the instructor of the course
  5. Improved Notification system - better management of what you'd like to see
