Notes from 3/25/26 meeting with Jill Finance tool
Process for parents to pay Trying to develop an AI finance assistant
Help find avenues
Most Microschools only have private pay (families paying full tuitions) or ESA (Education Saving Accounts - qualifier is IEP, can then apply for funding, usually gives $9,000-$20,000) If a sibling qualifies, the other siblings can qualify If Microschool is acredited, and can do fundraising for their scholarship registration, SGO could potentially cover fees. Would then have to submit the application to the SGO, and then the SGO
IEP for learning disability, applied for ESA funding. Gets $7,200 & additional $3000 in funding. Can be used for private school, tutoring, therapy, anything needed if through approved ESA provider
Daughter also qualified but only received $7,200. Some students with autism or other needs can receive $10-11K A little bit of a range, transferring
Microschools don't need to be credited to be an ESA provider Will probably require acredation
Private Pay - Usually paying monthly, some pay entire year up front, most are monthly. Justin brought up private tuition loans, Jill said she hadn't seen it yet.
Brought up payment plans and Afterpay/Klarna
A scholarship opportunity would be more beneficial
FAPE funding for students with IEPs 529 plan potentially giving 20% discount by getting around taxes (caveat is that the Microschool needs to be accredited)
