➡️  Submit a Request for Support

Executive Board of the Gator Redleg Chapter, USFAA
Introduction

The purpose of this document is to provide clarity and establish standards for the support that the Gator Redleg Chapter can offer to our members and fellow service members. Our intent is to give back during times of need as well as during celebratory events such as unit morale functions and family days. This playbook serves as a guideline to expedite decision-making for the Executive Board when voting on support for events. It will outline what we can and will support, and to what extent, while remaining within the limits of our contribution budget and financial realities at the time assistance is requested.

Disclaimer:
All amounts and descriptions in this document are intended to serve as suggestions and are not commitments or requirements. Final decisions regarding financial support and commitments will be determined by a vote of the Executive Board. We strive to be responsible and respectful stewards of the funds entrusted to our Chapter.

"End of Mission" - Honoring Those Who Serve

Regimental Coin Initiative

  • Description: The Chapter will create, design, and purchase a Regimental Coin to be presented as a parting gift to E5s and below who are ETSing or PCSing to another unit outside of the regiment. This serves as a token of recognition, particularly for those who leave without any formal gift or acknowledgment (other than an award).
  • Cost: $15 per coin. See this document for information on ordering and fulfillment of coins.

"Shake and Bake" - Unit Requests for Financial Support
  • Description: Units can identify specific needs (e.g., party/event/unit shirts/funding requests), and the Chapter will match that request up to a designated dollar amount. For example, if a unit requests a match of $1,000 for holiday party costs, the Chapter will provide funding according to the following tiered system:

  • Tiered Funding Structure:

    1. $250
    2. $500
    3. $1,000 (Major Event with greater than 200 attendees)
    4. Specific Line Item for an event, where the unit must still match the cost.
Coordinated Illumination - Support for Membership/Marketing Events
  • Description: Units can request the Chapter's support for events and ask for volunteers to run a membership table. An example could be a Unit Family/Employer Day, where the Chapter provides snacks/refreshments for families and employers while also running an information table to attract future donors.

  • Update: Tiers of Support:

    1. $100: Must include a membership goal of enrolling 5-10 USFAA members and specific targets for family/employer participation.
    2. $200: Must include a membership goal of enrolling 8-12 USFAA members and specific targets for family/employer participation.
SEAD - Unit Fundraising / Chapter Fundraising
  • Description: Units commonly hold silent auctions during holiday parties. The SEAD program allows the Chapter to donate items for auction, with proceeds split between the Chapter and the unit.
Quick Smoke - Immediate Financial Support for Service Members
  • Description: This process provides immediate assistance for a service member needing support for bills, travel costs, or other justifiable expenses. The request must be approved by the board.

  • Tiered Support:

    1. $250: Short-term hardship request. Does not require support from the Florida NG Foundation.
    2. $500: Short-term hardship request. Does not require support from the Florida NG Foundation.
    3. $750: Prolonged hardship requiring financial support. The member must have already requested support from the Florida NG Foundation.
    4. $1,000: Significant financial hardship that is large and/or enduring. The member must have already requested support from the Florida NG Foundation.
Fire Mission - Request for Financial Support for Units, Events, or Individuals
  • Description: This program supports requests for financial aid related to gifts for the Soldier or NCO of the Year from the battalion. Requests must fall within established guidelines, and the board will vote on the level of support provided.

  • Support Cap: Requests are capped at $150.
