Meeting was held 1/26/2021
5 in attendance: Michael Battaglia, Jenny Pippin, Steve and Garrett MIckley, Michael Payne
Michael Battaglia shared an article on the ICC IECC potential changes. attached is the site: https://mailing.iccsafe.org/icc-pulse-next-steps-for-the-iecc?ecid=ACsprvstQ2nHVThxwBST-mLe67jXSUB2ZKK0GH0VpLk_P2S5fH_iZCz9fnbQ_YXJCModwfct9wbh&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=108091121&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-9t--Gvphj9e5MewDC2udL1f-Itufuya6IJNhA3QSRnABKnoVM5hu_q44lW6GesrV988Yvn1wqtH2mc_xrctqwbUcfFug&utm_content=108091121&utm_source=hs_email
There is a discussion whether the the energy code should continue to be code or if it should be changed to a standard. Steve Mickley educated us on the difference between the two, from a governing standpoint.
Michael Payne Shared a link to a strawbale house that was an urban infill by Sarah Wigglesworth - one of the first architecture graduates. https://www.dezeen.com/2021/01/21/straw-bale-house-sarah-wigglesworth-jim-stephenson-piers-taylor/?utm_campaign=Feed%3A+dezeen+%28Dezeenfeed%29&utm_medium=feed&utm_source=feedburner
Steve Mickley expressed (again) his desire that we move towards trying to develop information that could be turned into an App. In the hopes that AIBD could become the source for high performance homes. This is completely foreign to me and hope that we could have some discussion to give us some direction. Not the how, Steve says that he has a source for the how, but what info is needed, how do we start gathering that info, and what makes sense for the introduction to this type of app.
Concludes the report.
