Prayer is our first response, not our last resort.
In all of the gospel accounts of Jesus’ life, there was only one written record of the disciples asking Jesus to teach them something specifically. They asked, “Jesus, teach us to pray.” While it is safe to say that Jesus taught them all sorts of truths and principles, it’s notable that this is the only topic that teaching was explicitly requested. For many of us, it’s assumed we would know how to pray. We do it before meals. We do it before a baseball game or a meeting, but what would it look like if we set our hearts on seeking God through a growing prayer life? We believe that a life of prayer should be intentional, effective, and enjoyable.
We gather as a church twice a year to pray and fast. It's a rhythm that helps us align our hearts as a community with Jesus; it removes distractions and grows our hunger to know Jesus more. It's our hope that as you join us that we our prayer life becomes more natural and enjoyable.
