AIM TAP - Improving Patient Safety: AHRQ Safety Program in Perinatal Care

  • Obstetric hemorrhage and severe hypertension in pregnancy are two leading causes of preventable maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity in the United States. AIM and The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) want to do something about it.
  • AHRQ developed the Safety Program for Perinatal Care (SPPC), a collection of tools to improve the patient safety culture of L&D units by improving teamwork skills. Since the release of the original toolkit, AHRQ has created new tools to align SPPC’s adaptive care processes with the clinical care processes in AIM’s Patient Safety Bundles on Obstetric Hemorrhage and Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy.
  • Join us as we resume the AIM Technical Assistance Presentation series to discuss how to use the AHRQ SPPC-II Teamwork Toolkit to bolster AIM bundle implementation on October 19th.
NOTE: This meeting has passed.  Check AIM's Vimeo channel for recording of meeting, to be uploaded in the near future.
