Projectoree - Friday-Sunday, May 1-3, 2026
(from Jim Tyson)

The Projectoree is a camporee-type event, usually held on the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May (no rain date), at Patuxent River Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. It features 10 competitive team-building and leadership development games held on an exact time schedule on Saturday morning and afternoon, plus some late day and nighttime “for fun” activities. Two of the games are “Long Games” (38 minutes each) while eight are “Short Games” (18 minutes each). A Patrol consists of 6 to 10 Scouts. The Projectoree is not put on by the District Staff, but rather by the participating Troops. Each Troop is responsible for running a game (equipment and staffing), handling an administrative task, and completing a clean-up job. Each game is run by Senior Scouts (aka “Staff Scouts”) from their Troop, with the backup assistance of a “shadow adult.” Additional Staff Scouts help with the timekeeping, flag ceremonies, campfire program, first aid, administrative duties, and more. In short, this is an event for Patrols, run by Senior Scouts, within an infrastructure set up by the participating Troops. More information contact Jim Tyson.
