A message to our church.

We know that COVID-19 has become a worldwide concern. Your health and safety are very important to us. As you know, we are processing CoronaVirus updates from moment to moment. The CDC and Louisiana Governor Edwards have issued a proclamation that gatherings of 250 people or more are halted until further notice. We are going to comply with this mandate and will continue to use wisdom and common sense as the days unfold.

How does this affect SC Church services and events?

We will not have Sunday service or any event this weekend. We will, however, broadcast our worship experiences. This will include preaching, worshiping God, praying for you and standing together. We want to continue to minister to you even though things will look a little different at church in the coming weeks. We will not be meeting at our physical location, but we will still meet together online.

SC Church will not be gathering on-site, but we are preparing a special online worship experience for you and your family. We encourage you to gather in your homes whether with just your family or with a small group to worship together. We will provide online streaming for a full-service experience.

This decision has been made to protect the health and improve the well-being of people in our community to prevent the disease from spreading.

Follow @scclife for updates. Please help us get the word out.

As a community, let’s continue to pray for:
  • Wisdom for our city and government leaders.
  • For God to end the spread of this disease.
  • For peace in our minds and hearts.
  • Full recovery for all who have been affected.
We love you!

Dear ECA family,

As of Friday, March 13, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has issued a statewide proclamation announcing the following:

“Gov. John Bel Edwards today signed a proclamation that among other actions immediately halts any gathering of more than 250 people until Monday, April 13, closes all K-12 public schools statewide effective Monday, March 16 resuming Monday, April 13, as Louisiana seeks to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the state. As of mid-day Friday, Louisiana has 33 presumptive positive cases of COVID-19.

The Governor will address this order at his 3 p.m. joint media briefing with New
Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell at New Orleans City Hall, which will also be live-streamed at Facebook.com/LouisianaGov.

“We are at an inflection point now and we are going to take bold action to minimize the further spread of this illness. That is why I am issuing this order today, ending all events of more than 250 people, closing our schools, and reducing the amount of face-to-face
public interaction at state government buildings,” Gov. Edwards said. “In a separate executive order, I will grant Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin’s request to move our upcoming elections for April and May to June and July. The limits on gatherings of 250 people or more statewide are based on federal CDC guidance given the community spread which we are currently experiencing. These steps are necessary to protect the health and safety of the people of Louisiana from the risk of COVID-19.”

You can read the proclamation in its entirety by visiting https://gov.louisiana.gov/index.cfm/newsroom/detail/2403.

In accordance with this proclamation, both the elementary campus and the middle and high school campus will be closed until further notice. Aftercare for school-aged children will be closed as well. Faculty and staff will be meeting during this time to ensure a plan is in place for our students' continued academic growth. Please monitor social media, newsletter distribution lists, and your email as we continue to update our families on this evolving situation. In the meantime, please continue to practice CDC recommendations for good hygiene.

As a reminder, the Lord is still in control and still has the power over sickness, disease, and fear. We ask that you join us in prayer and that God will provide you the peace that passes all understanding.

Sincerely,
The Evangel Christian Academy Administration
