Liaison report Single Family Home Builders Committee

The nahb single family home builders committee meet at the spring leadership meeting in Washington DC. The main topic of discussion was the top challengers for builders in 2025, these range from problems of higher interest rates cost and availability of lots cost and availability of labor cost and availability of Labor. Builders that participated in the survey stressed that up to 53% of them are having troubles finding finished carpenters and 50% are having trouble finding rough carpenters, with roofers coming in at 30% there are other categories in between. The committee will be expanding on this as they are trying to figure out what is causing the shortage and where it is most prominent in the US.
The other biggest challenge seems to be impact and hook up fees with difficulty obtaining zoning permits and approvals this will also be looked at on a state by state basis.
