September was a quiet month for the committee. The only activity of note was the several meetings of the ICC's Building Code Advisory Committee (BCAC) that were held to review and discuss proposed CAH#2 modifications to code amendments. These modifications were proposed during the public comment period and are intended to make the original proposals, which were rejected in the first round back in April, more acceptable to the ICC committees working in this Group B cycle. The last BCAC meeting to work with CAH#2 modifications will be on October 8.

The AIBD Codes & Standards Committee has one proposed modification to be reconsidered in CAH#2. Originally heard and rejected by the IRC-Building Committee, a companion modification heard later by the IADMIN Committee was approved after floor modifications were adopted. We now have a disagreement between the IBC and IEBC, where the modification was adopted, and the IRC, where it was rejected.  We submitted the same floor modifications to the IRC version of the proposed amendment during the public comment period, with the expectation that the IRC-Building Committee would take it up in CAH#2 on Wednesday, October 22.
