TO SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND EFFORT WITH THIS PROCESS - READ EVERY SINGLE WORD OF THIS DOCUMENT AND WATCH EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY VIDEO - FAILED REGISTRATIONS HAVE RESULTED FROM PEOPLE NOT FOLLOWING THIS STEP BY STEP GUIDE - TAKE YOUR TIME AND FOLLOW THIS PROCESS CAREFULLY

Hey everyone!

Important message for everyone on Coach Builder Pro and everyone who is about to be on Coach Builder Pro. (and anyone else using 10DLC phone numbers for their business on other platforms)

Long story short is that the US government is cracking down on SMS spam and there are some new rules and regulations that have been put into place. Everyone will now need to register their phone numbers in order to send out SMS messages.

Everyone located in the US and Canada must register.

If you are located in another country, contact CBP support for more information regarding your specific situation to find out if you are required to register.

This is not Coach Builder Pro putting this into place but rather coming from the U.S. telecommunications carriers based on the new regulations that have been put in place by the government and regulatory organizations.

If we have not notified you that your funnel is completed, wait to start this process until after you have been notified that your funnel is ready to go.

Below is a step by step guide that will help you with this process.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the registration application shows as "Failed" you will have to re-submit the application.

BUT DO NOT just re-submit the application again without changing anything. If you re-submit without changing anything, it will just show as failed again. There are actual humans reviewing these requests, not just automated systems.

There is a limit of 3 attempts for this registration process so it's very important that you review the information you've submitted, identify any potential issues, and make the changes before trying to submit again.

DISCLAIMER: The sample messages, recommended settings and use case descriptions we recommend below are based on our own research and recommendations from support teams relative to the structure of your funnels and the nature of your business model. We can't guarantee that following our recommendations will 100% get you approved but we have put information together in order to help you to the best of our ability.

PRELIMINARY STEPS - (THESE ARE NOT OPTIONAL - SET ALL OF THIS UP)

1) Go to Settings ➡️ Business Profile and make sure that everything on that page is completely filled out correctly and accurately in regards to your business information.

The registration process will be asking for some of this information and it has to be an exact match to what is entered on this page. Everything has to be an exact match.

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR THIS STEP

2) Next we will need to set up a couple simple automations and add an "opt-in checkbox" to your calendar page for compliance reasons since that is where we are collecting the leads phone number. Follow these step by step videos below.

First let's set up your opt-in keyword:

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR THIS STEP

3) Next, lets set up the checkbox on your calendar form

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR THIS STEP

There have been a few minor updates to form editor and calendar settings since recording the above video. Here is an update video showing you the updates and how things look now.

WATCH THE UPDATE VIDEO FOR THIS STEP

UPDATE: There is now a box that automatically appears on your calendar form. Delete that terms and conditions box and follow this step to create the custom check box in order for the automations to work correctly.

STARTING THE A2P 10DLC REGISTRATION PROCESS

This registration process will be slightly different depending on your business type.

If you have a business with a tax ID such as EIN or CCN follow this first Standard Brand & Campaign Registration process below.

Basically, if you are NOT a sole proprietor this will be the option you choose.

If you have a sole proprietorship, skip to those instructions below.

UPDATE: If you have an LLC but do not have an EIN and only have a SSN, you can also skip to the sole proprietorship registration steps.

STEP 2

Step 2 is simply notifying you about the fees for this registration process.

Coach Builder Pro is NOT the one charging these fees. These fees are initiated by the regulators and/or telecommunication carriers.

The Standard Brand Registration fee and Standard Campaign Registration fee that you see highlighted in blue are two separate fees (not options to choose between) and you will be charged both after you submit.

At the bottom you will see an additional campaign fee of up to $12 per month in accordance with the TCR rules.

I've been told that this can range anywhere from $2 per month up to $12 per month. Essentially the carriers score you based on whether or not you are following best practices or if you are generating complaints in regards to your SMS activities. If you are spamming people, generating complaints and not following best practices, the charge will be towards the higher end of the spectrum.

The messaging credits within your account will be put towards these charges (both the one time fees and the recurring TCR fees).

If you are not familiar with how your account messaging credits work, you can learn more within Module 9 - Lesson 4 of the LWL Funnel Modules.

Click the blue "Next" button to continue to Step 3.

STEP 3

Next you will begin with entering your business information below. You may notice that some of the information is pre-populated based on what you have entered in your Business Profile Settings.

It's important that this information exactly matches what you entered in the Business Profile Settings and that it is 100% accurate. It is critical that the business name and information you are submitting is an exact match to what the government has on file for your business.

Here is an additional note provided to us by CBP support:

"NOTE: If you're registering a US entity, please enter the exact legal business name as registered with the EIN, which can be found on the CP 575 EIN Confirmation Letter. An exact match between the legal business name and the EIN as displayed on CP 575 is required for the Brand to be successfully registered. Please do not use the legal business name found on the W2 or W9 forms as they may be different from what you have on the CP 575 notice. If you've misplaced your CP 575 notice, you may request a 147c letter from the IRS and use the information there for registration.

Please note that your full legal business name may span multiple lines on your CP 575 / 147c letter. If that is the case, you must input all the lines above the address line (which constitutes your full legal business name) instead of just using the first line."

STEP 6

I have been informed that it's best to select "Low Volume Mixed" for the campaign use case in order to have the highest chance for approval.

For the Campaign Use Case Description, you are essentially explaining what you are using SMS for and making your case for why they should approve you and allow you to use SMS for your business. Being very descriptive and very clear is important here.

**Within the sample message below, when you see brackets around personal info you need to add in, you actually need to enter in your personal information. And DO NOT include brackets in your final copy that you submit!

We recommend you enter this:

I'm a health coach based out of [enter your city and state/province] and I use SMS to send out information about appointments after someone books an appointment with me. We send out both appointment confirmations and appointment reminders so people remember their upcoming appointments. I use the phone number to communicate with my clients when they have questions and also to communicate with potential clients when they have questions about working with me.

After you have entered and reviewed your use case description, click the blue "Next" button.

Next we will enter our sample messages. It's very Important that these sample messages represent what we described as our use case in the previous step.

It's also important that we provide sample messages that represent what we are actually sending out to people. Below are our recommended sample messages in blue.

The pink is where you to enter your own information based on what you set up in your business profile settings. (see screenshot below)

STEP 8

Part A) Next they ask: "How do end-users consent to receive messages?"

**Within the sample message below, when you see brackets around personal info you need to add in, you actually need to enter in your personal information. And DO NOT include brackets in your final copy that you submit!

1 - Enter in the link to your own calendar page
2 - Enter the exact opt-in messaging that appears next to the checkbox on your calendar
3 - Enter in the keyword you set up (we recommended START) along with business phone number that you purchased in Coach Builder Pro.

WATCH THIS VIDEO if you don't know where to find the above information to enter in the templated message below.

Here is our recommended description for this:

End users such as my clients and potential clients can opt-in by visiting my calendar page [https://www.lifeonpurposechallenge.io/calendar] where they would enter in their personal information, including their phone number, when scheduling their appointment with me. During the process of scheduling their appointment they then have an option to check a box and say "YES" to a message that says "I agree to receive SMS/text appointment confirmations, reminders and other messages from Company Name.". This is not a mandatory field for them to check in order to book an appointment. If they don't check "YES", the system will automatically set them to Do Not Disturb to ensure they are not contacted by SMS. Additionally, end users can also opt-in by texting the word START to (111) 222-3333 in order to opt-in to receive SMS messages.

Part B) They then ask for your Opt-in Keywords

Don't put in a bunch of random keywords if you did not set them up previously in the automation.

We recommended you use the keyword START. If you set that up as your keyword when building your automation you can simply input the word START into this section.

Part C) They then ask for your Opt-in Message (Must contain business name and opt-out keyword)

For this section you will need to input the exact same message that you set up when building your Opt-in keyword automation in the preliminary steps.

WATCH VIDEO if you don't remember where you set up this opt-in message during the preliminary steps.

Example of what we recommended to say when you set up your opt-in keyword automation:

You've successfully opted in the receive messages from Life On Purpose!

I’m Mary Hopkins and I empower midlife moms to lose weight, regain energy and find their voice so they can live life on purpose.

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll get back to you as soon as possible 😊

Thanks, Mary Hopkins - Life On Purpose

IMPORTANT - For this section you will need to input the exact same message that you set up when building your Opt-in keyword automation in the preliminary steps. Make sure to include the opt out phrase and the phrase that identifies yourself and your business!

After you have entered and reviewed your information, click the blue "Submit" button.
Standard Brand A2P Reg. Step 8.png 638 KB View full-size Download

If you receive an error message that prevents you from submitting, it means the Opt-in message is over the character limit (see image below). To solve this, try entering in a shorter version of your power statement or alternatively completely removing the power statement from the message. Then click submit again.

After you've clicked submit and the submission goes through successfully -
All done!

To check your registration status over the coming days (or weeks) you can look back in the Trust Center. It will either say "In Progress", "Approved", or "Failed"

If it is showing as "Failed", review the information you submitted. There is something that you submitted that was not accurate or that isn't compliant with their rules and regulations. Unfortunately they don't tell us WHY it failed and they make you research and diagnose the issue on your own. Something will need to be changed before trying again. Of course, we will assist you to the best of our ability!

TROUBLESHOOTING A FAILED SUBMISSION

If the registration application shows as "Failed" you will have to re-submit the application.

BUT DO NOT just re-submit the application again without changing anything. If you re-submit without changing anything, it will just show as failed again. There are actual humans reviewing these requests, not just automated systems.

I have been told that there is a limit of 3 attempts for this registration process so it's very important that you review the information you've submitted, identify any potential issues, and make the changes before trying to submit again.

Carefully and slowly go through all of the steps above to identify any issues with your submission before re-submitting your application.

Use the information below as a guide to determine what might need to be changed

Standard Brand Status has to do with your business identity and business information you submitted. If this is showing as Approved, you know your business information was submitted correctly. If this is showing as failed, then something you submitted regarding your personal identity or business identity was incorrect or not found in the government database. In that case you will need to review your business information to find the error and fix it before submitting again.

Standard Campaign Status has to do with the described use case, sample messages or inadequate proof or use of opt-in/opt-out compliance. If this is failed, one or many of these above things need to be changed. Go back and review the steps throughout this guide extremely carefully to see if you can spot any issues. Make sure you set up all of the automations correctly and make sure you didn't miss any steps. The smallest of details outlined in the above steps are very important for this process!
