Below you will find the 3 ways that you may need to use to submit your article through Basecamp depending on whether you have been assigned an article, need to submit something not assigned previously, or need to contribute to something for all (such as In Memoriam or Via the Grapevine).
Please save these instructions for future reference.
Articles that are needed for The Garden Path are already assigned in Basecamp. This is how you find those assigned articles:
- Go to Basecamp.com and log in
- At the top of the screen you will see a menu
- Click on :) My Stuff
- A drop down menu will appear - click on My Assignments
- A list of assignments for The Garden Path will be shown
- Click on one of the assignments and you will be taken to the "card" that you will enter your article into.
- Scroll down until you see a "comment box" that says Add a comment here...
- Click there and a word processing box will open that says Type your comment here...
- You can either use the word processing box to directly type your article or you can choose the PaperClip icon (it looks like a paper clip) to upload an article and/or pictures
- When you are done, click the green button that says "Add this comment"
- Scroll up and check off any appropriate radio boxes under the steps section of your card.
- You've now completed that assignment.
- If you like you can "Move your card" to "Article/Content Ready for Review" but this isn't necessary. Please do NOT move your card to Done, this is for the Editor to move to when they have entered your article/content into the TGP template.
- If you had more than one assignment, please go back to instruction number 3 above and repeat the instructions from there.

IF you need to submit something that hasn't been previously assigned this is how you accomplish that:
- Once logged in there you will see a project (rectangular box) for The Garden Path (and others). Once there follow these instructions to submit your request(s)
- Click on the box for the project that you want to submit to (in this case "The Garden Path").
- Click on The Garden Path Tracker
- Click on the green button that says +Add A Card (upper left of the screen)
- Give your card a title (what you are submitting)
- Enter your event's information in the comment box (where it says Describe your card here...)
- Use the paper clip icon to attach picture files
- Click the green button that says "Save Card"

- Click on "Articles/Content Requested by Editor or Provided by Reporter/Writer"
- Scroll down to find the appropriate card
- Click on the card that you want to contribute to
- Scroll down until you see a "comment box" that says Add a comment here...
- Click there and a word processing box will open that says Type your comment here...
- You can either use the word processing box to directly type your article or you can choose the PaperClip icon (it looks like a paper clip) to upload an article and/or pictures
- When you are done, click the green button that says "Add this comment"
