We are pleased to announce two new position openings that are part of ARS’s SCINet Office, which oversees agency-wide efforts to empower ARS research with modern scientific computing hardware and methods. The positions are also part of the ARS AI Center of Excellence Program that focuses on the use of AI technologies to address agricultural problems.
 
Computational Biologist (Full Stack Developer)
GS 9-11, full-time, permanent
Salary range: $53,433 - $84,049 per year
The successful candidate will provide technical and professional support in the area of computational biology with a focus on full stack software development. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, providing support in computational biology or data science; and assisting with or leading the development of web-based applications, databases, scientific software, server-side software infrastructure, and/or websites. Data Science Coordinator
GS 12, full-time, permanent
Salary range: $77,488 - $100,739 per year
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of organizational and operational planning, scientific support, and science communications activities. Relevant expertise includes experience with planning or organizing scientific communication activities; managing scientific support for an agricultural, biological or natural resource organization; and conducting analyses on scientific data.
