4.13 Codes & Standards Committee: December 2024 Committee Activity Report
December was an active period for preparing, editing, and garnering support for AIBD's proposed modifications to the 2027 ICC model codes. The committee chair met with members of other organizations, principally through the NADRA Organization Liaison Subcommittee, to get feedback and support for the modifications.
All proposed final drafts are available on the ICC's modification proposal portal, cdpACCESS, at https://www.cdpaccess.com/login. You will need an account to view the proposals, which all currently have an unsubmitted public status. For those of you without such access, I have also uploaded the current versions to basecamp. Submission must occur by January 10. Note that some proposed amendments previously reviewed with the AIBD Board were dropped or modified for a variety of reasons during the feedback process. Most notably, the proposed definition for 'design professional' was revised to use the term 'building designer' in keeping with existing reference documents.
