✨ Outcomes from Virtual Meeting on July 16th

Thank you for attending to the last GMG Artificial Intelligence Working Group virtual meeting on July 9th. During the call, GMG presented about the 2 artificial intelligence projects (check update below!), Honeywell presented about "Natural Language Processing of Operator/Maintenance Logs for Determining Failure Root Cause" and a safety share about Sandvik Test Mine’s ongoing efforts have provided a big decrease in the Lost Time Injury rate. Update: Open Data Sets for AI in Mining
  • Industry participants are currently developing a guideline for the collection, cleaning, labelling, and curating of open data sets to help the industry test and train their models for a variety of AI applications.
  • There’s been vast advancement in the guideline, which currently is under review by the Technical Editor and will then be returned to the Project Team for review 
  • The team hosted a mini-workshop to revise the risk assessment section. Find link below. 
Update: Implementation of AI in Mining
  • Project aims is to leverage lessons learned and case study examples from experience applying AI in mining to help overcome the challenges and barriers to entry and to improve adoption of AI, and as a result, boost efficiency in the mining value chain. 
  • Project sections: Business foundation, technical foundation, ethics and education 
  • Project needs volunteers for content development.
