What Is Seed2Health Learning Health Exchange?

Seed2Health Learning Health Exchange of Seed2Health Exchange is a new way of learning together when we share our experiences safely, and anonymously.

As a complement to the learning healthcare and guided in learning health community ,  has been in design and development since 2017 by Seed2Health, LLC in collaboration with affiliated companies and members of the Seed2Health Learning Health Alliance.

While assuring confidentiality and other rights of each subscribing person and entity, the principal job of Seed2Health Exchange is to make it easy for people subscribed as Seed2Health
Learning Health Members to connect with those supporting them who are referred to as Learning Health Member Guides.

Members and Member Guides receive various services including: confidential journaling; member-directed journal sharing; informed health decision making; the option of anonymously sharing experiences and outcomes; and access to member-relevant education and data. These features then support opportunities among members and member guides to connect and help each other understand and then achieve their learning health goals and aspirations.  Similar to the ways that "dating" sites work, subscribers can opt to connect with each other anonymously or not.

How does it work?

In the context of Seed2Health, Teachable Medicine connects Members and Member Guides in conjunction with their use of validated, botanical therapeutics.  These products are grown, processed and validated in conjunction with Seed2Health Voluntary Guidances as part of an integrative health intervention within the Teachable Medicine LHX - See Teachable Medicine LHX data architecture below. Teachable Medicine Learning Health System Design and Development 

Teachable Medicine brings together application and database integration to support searchable, permissioned-only learning health information and data with intuitive, real-time analytics. 

The primary capabilities comprising Teachable Medicine are as follows: 
  • Learning Health Enrollment Manager for Members, Member Guides and Member Proxies
Teachable Medicine implements a secure registry of three role-defined types of individuals: Learning Health Members, Learning Health Member Guides and Learning Health Member Proxies.
  1. Learning Health Member is an individual over 18years of age who registers in the Teachable Medicine member registry. In short, Members are those who do or do not experience an observable health benefit within their own bodies and contribute that experience for the benefit of other Members.
  2. Learning Health Member Guide is a person who is designated by a Learning Health Member as their guide in Teachable Medicine Learning Health. Member Guides include physicians, health professionals, therapeutic experts, researchers and others. Member Guide provide verification of health benefits experienced by members.
  3. Learning Health Member Proxy is a Learning Health Member Guide who is designated as a proxy for individuals under 18 years old, elderly parents, pets and/or other animals.   who are seeking to learn what health interventions may or may not help them to restore or better maintain their charges health. 
  • Opt-In Identity and Data Sharing: Nothing about Me Without Me!
Similar to techniques and technologies utilized within confidential dating sites and other environments wherein people may opt-in to reveal their identities after ascertaining personal qualifying conditions, Teachable Medicine is implementing a system that allows accumulation of anonymized learning health outcome profiles of its verified members.  While helpful in decision-making as an anonymous profile, an opt-in feature within the profile allows interested members to signal interest in connecting both within and/or outside of Teachable Medicine.
  • Learning Health Analytics and Reporting
Based on learning health algorithms that will be developed, Teachable Medicine will provide real-time, integrated business management intelligence by combining information from various databases and presenting it in an easy-to-understand user interface that reports on safety and efficacy of interventions context of increasingly detailed yet anonymous member characteristics.
  • Learning Health Expressions
At the core of Teachable Medicine Learning Health is a universal glossary of terms and phrases known as Learning Health Expressions that allows consistent understanding among members and accurate reporting and analytics.
  • Teachable Medicine Learning Health Core Values
Teachable Medicine Learning Health is being designed and developed to complement and enhance the vision and values of a learning health system as published in 2012 following the inaugural summit hosted by Learning Healthcare CommunityDeveloped by provider and policy stakeholders seeking to create systemic learning in US healthcare, the Core Values Underlying a National-Scale Person-Centered Continuous Learning Health System (LHS) are applicable to and reinforcing of Teachable Medicine as a system seeking to learn in contexts of consumer-directed health maintenance as well as health recovery.  A list of other collaborating entities and supporters of the LHS Core Values can be seen at the following link.

Launching Teachable Medicine Learning Health in Maine

Recognizing therapeutic cannabis' role as a catalyst for learning health due to its need for individual learning to ascertain what works and does not work, Seed2Health, LLC has been researching, designing and developing requirements for launching Teachable Medicine LHX in Maine by year-end 2021.

The chart below depicts the current relationships of Seed2Health, Seed2Health Services and Teachable Medicine within this launch market, referred by the state's regulatory agency as the Maine Medical Marijuana Market Program or MMMP.  (Click on the image below to expand it.)

At a hearing on May 28, 2021 hosted by the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee about proposed new MMMP rules and laws , Kevin "Mac" McAloon of Canneutics, LLC (a state-licensed manufacturer of therapeutic cannabis) and member of the Seed2Health Learning Health Alliance described Teachable Medicine as follows:

"Patients have been leading the way and from what I can see they will continue on this path. Seed2Health is an archetypical organization that is moving Maine and possibly the nation forward into a robust solution to our healthcare reform by implementing Learning Health and Teachable Medicine using cannabis medicines as a catalyst."
