PROMPT

Experts claim that this world has seen 100 billion people.

If those numbers are correct that is a lot of souls.

So, both Heaven & Hell are full of souls with a huge population.

Breakdown how many people there were historically in the different eras.

I have compiled the historical population estimates across eras and their contribution to the total souls ever lived (around 118 billion).

You can now see how humanity expanded from the few in the beginning to today’s billions alive on Earth, with the cumulative souls showing how vast Heaven and Hell must be in their populations.

⚖️ Ecclesiastes 3:20 —

“All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.”

And Daniel 12:2 —

“And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

This means every soul is accounted for in God’s books, though the world forgets its own past.

Would you like me to now break down how many of these billions may have entered Heaven vs. Hell according to Scripture?

The LORD has given us glimpses of the fate of souls.

Let us weigh Heaven and Hell in light of Scripture, not men’s imagination:

1. The Narrow Gate vs. the Broad Way

Matthew 7:13–14 —

“Enter ye in at the strait gate:

for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
2. The Countless Multitude of the Redeemed

Revelation 7:9 —

“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands.”

THE FULFILLED REVELATION: A KING JAMES BIBLE WITNESS – Library of Rickandria

➡️ Heaven holds a numberless redeemed host, too great for man to count.

3. Heaven’s Population Through History

Old Testament saints:

From Adam to Christ, those who believed in God’s promise (Hebrews 11).

The Church Age:

From Pentecost onward, multitudes in Christ.

Martyrs & Tribulation saints:

Countless added (Revelation 6:9–11).

Children:

Many believe infants and children who die are received by Christ (Matthew 19:14).

4. Hell’s Population

Isaiah 5:14 —

“Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure...”

Revelation 20:15 —

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

➡️ Hell is vast, always enlarging, because the majority walk in sin.

Estimated Balance (Out of ~118 Billion souls)

📍 These are not exact numbers, but a Scriptural ratio based on Christ’s warning of “few” vs. “many”:

Heaven: Perhaps 1 in 10 (billions upon billions, countless).

Hell: Perhaps 9 in 10 (the broad road of destruction).

Thus, Heaven is full of glory with a redeemed host beyond number, yet Hell is also vast and expanding, containing the majority of all mankind that ever lived.

🔥 Revelation 20:12 —

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened... and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

Every soul is recorded.

None lost.

None forgotten.

Would you like me to now map these estimates onto the historical eras we built earlier—showing which ages sent more souls to Heaven vs. Hell?

Here is the combined scroll-teaching, flowing from history into eternity:

Behold — the Eternal Scroll of Souls is charted before your eyes.

Each era shows the billions who lived, with their portion divided:

🔥 Hell (Broad Way, crimson) — the many.

Heaven (Narrow Gate, golden) — the few, yet numberless to man.

“Many there be which go in thereat… few there be that find it” Matthew 7:13–14

From the dust of Eden until today, mankind has multiplied upon the face of the earth.

Historians and demographers estimate that over 118 billion souls have walked under the sun.

Prehistoric (before 10,000 BC): ~20 billion souls lived and died, hunters and gatherers scattered.

Early Civilizations (10,000 BC – 1 AD): ~25 billion more, from Sumer to Egypt, from China to the Americas.

Roman Era to Middle Ages (1 – 1000 AD): ~15 billion souls, as empires rose and fell.

High Middle Ages to Early Modern (1000 – 1500): ~15 billion more, from castles to crusades.

Renaissance to Early Industrial (1500 – 1800): ~10 billion, explorers and kings.

Industrial Revolution (1800 – 1900): ~10 billion, factories and revolutions.

20th Century (1900 – 2000): ~13 billion, two world wars, nations reborn.

21st Century (2000 – now): ~10 billion already in one generation, and counting.

Thus stands the testimony:

a sea of humanity, each life a soul eternal.

🔥 The Narrow Gate and the Broad Way: The Eternal Destiny of 118 Billion Souls

But where are they now?

Heaven and Hell hold their multitudes.

The Broad Way:

Christ warns that:

“wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat” (Matthew 7:13).

By this Word, most souls tread Hell’s road.

Perhaps 9 in 10 are there, bound in chains, awaiting final judgment.

The Narrow Gate:

Yet Christ also says,

“strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:14).

Even so, Heaven shines with a

“great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues” (Revelation 7:9)
⚖️ Eternal Ledger of Souls (Approximate)

Heaven: ~12 billion and beyond — too vast for man to number, yet called “few” in the sight of the whole.

Hell: ~106 billion and growing — vast, swollen, ever enlarging its mouth (Isaiah 5:14).

Yet God forgets none.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened” (Revelation 20:12).

The census of eternity is kept by His hand alone.

Here is the unified scroll-outline, woven like a prophetic proclamation:

📜 The Scroll of Souls and Eternity

I. Generations of Man: A Record of Souls from Adam to Our Time

Genesis 5:1 —

“This is the book of the generations of Adam…”

Here we recount the vast march of humanity:

From the dust of Eden to the billions alive today.

Eight eras of:

  • growth
  • famine
  • war

and birth.

Over 118 billion souls have lived under the sun.

II. The Narrow Gate and the Broad Way: The Eternal Destiny of 118 Billion Souls

Matthew 7:13–14 —

“Wide is the gate… and many there be which go in thereat… strait is the gate… and few there be that find it.”

Here we weigh eternity’s roads:

The Broad Way swallows the majority into destruction.

The Narrow Gate admits the redeemed, a multitude no man can number, clothed in white.

Heaven is vast, yet Hell is vaster still.

III. ⚖️ The Eternal Ledger of Souls: Heaven’s Few, Hell’s Many

Revelation 20:12,15 —

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God… and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Here the divine balance is revealed:

Heaven’s host:

perhaps 12 billion — sealed in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Hell’s multitude:

perhaps 106 billion — ever enlarging her mouth.

Every soul remembered.

Every name recorded.

No escape from God’s books.
