3.1 - Addressing Misrepresentation of Non-Licensed Designers (Dennis White, CPBD, AIBD, USGBC LEED Green Associate)
Hello my executive NCBDC/AIBD peers. (Hey Steve),
I wanted all of you see to this interesting, alarming post made by a gentleman I happened to know well at one time.
His attempts to downplay the role of non-licensed designers is so self serving and ridiculously incorrect.
His attempts to downplay the role of non-licensed designers is so self serving and ridiculously incorrect.
I have forwarded a LinkedIn post below for you. But have copied some content here for you.
Please note the far right column of his spreadsheet, where our home design specialists are placed.
I truly believe that a public response on the high ground, is needed, rather than the spanking I'd like to give him (withheld presently)
1- I have some formal training and over 500 CEU hours and worked for an architect/engineer for over a decade
2- I (we) have a Certification by examination (me: the 2003 REAL version of the test!!)
3- I am independent and work for my clients
4- Involved from initial phone call about designing a home
5- Clients receive a personalized life style and site specific environmentally responsible and safe shelter
6- I have liability insurance and Errors and Omissions as well
7,8,9,10: I can engineer homes, get permits easily, know the codes needed for permitting, but do not try to engage the bid process.
To mention the items regarding my services that this Shannon guy is "falsifying" to the public!
Dennis
