WVBS Community Letter

Dear WV Box and Ship customers:

The reason for sending you this letter is to invite you to a meeting.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current business climate and how we as businesses and individuals can begin working together to improve conditions for all of us. As it stands, WV Box and Ship experiences the same issues as our customers: namely, rising prices and an increasingly unreliable business environment. To help us combat the rising prices we ourselves pay, the normal and typical avenue is to raise prices on our customers. In evaluating this, we believe that prices have risen to a point that we do not believe that this helpful to the greater cause of the financial health of our community.

Furthermore, raising prices simply amounts to “kicking the can down the road.” It helps us in the short term, but what about tomorrow when prices raise again? How much longer can this cycle of pricing raising continue for any of us?

As a small business that serves the Sabraton area, we would like to evaluate other options with our community besides raising prices. We have already explored the typical ideas a business has, but what if we were together in the same room, talking as people? What if there are ways we could find that help us both that do not include raising prices? A financially healthy business is good for the community, but a financially healthy community is also good for a business. We believe that we have a vested interest in your financial health, and that you have a vested interest in our financial health. We both need to be strong or neither of us are strong.

Accordingly, if you would be willing to come and discuss this with us, then you are invited to come to the SpringHill Suites on 08 September at 6:30pm. What you need to bring is simply yourself. This meeting is open for all: fellow small businesses and individuals alike. We all have insights and perspectives, and sharing them is beneficial for all.

We believe that in interacting with our community to discuss the matters we hold in common, we can develop specific steps that help both of us. In this, we will together find a better way forward.
