Compared to recent reports from this committee, this will be a short report. Everything is in motion and is ready for judging on the 19th and 20th of this month. The judges will be receiving updates every couple days, so they are able to properly prepare.
The biggest difference from last year is I have decided that I will not be traveling to Jupiter for the judging process as I have the last two years. This is being done to limit the expenses of the program and as part of the bigger cost saving efforts of the Institute. While the amount for travel, lodging and meeting space it is not a huge amount, it does save around $2,500.
As of the writing of this report, we have 86 entries. While that seems very low, compared to last year we were at 90 for the same calendar date. This is not a deficit that scares me. History has taught us that the last two weeks (truthfully, the last two days) are VERY eventful, and I have no doubt that this year will any different. For the last two years, I have focused on program exposure, and this is where we will find out what has worked.
Of course, it is my goal to sound like a broken at our July meetings, proudly announcing that ARDA has once again broken its own record. I am confident that it can happen! Stay tuned...
Respectfully,
Brandon Clokey
