Welcome to the Diverse Collection Support Toolkit! We wanted to give a short introduction to and overview of the toolkit for new selectors and as a refresher for current selectors.
This toolkit is made up of tips, action items, and resources that are intended to help contribute to a digital library collection that is representative of all readers and users in Wisconsin, with an exciting and diverse array of author voices and perspectives showing up across genres, reading levels and age groups. These resources have been developed in response to a recommendation from the Collection Development Committee in 2021.
While the toolkit modules include lots of suggestions and tips for selectors, the work on this collection does not only fall on the selection and purchasing end! Project managers are also working on a number of activities behind the scenes to help ensure that diverse titles are being marketed and promoted out to library users, and that the digital library's de-selection practices utilize an equity lens.

We encourage you to comment on this and other modules, add YOUR tips and suggestions, or email us with ideas for future modules. We are excited to hear and learn from you! Find the complete toolkit here.
