Project Manager Updates
Thank you to Kayla M., Chris H., Samma J., and Loralee P. for your test-driving help as we better understand how to utilize shelf talkers at the consortium level. Project managers are working with OverDrive and selector volunteers to determine some best practices for coordinating and publishing shelf talkers, and we expect to roll these out for your consideration next year!

Diverse Collection Action Plan Ideas | November
- OverDrive's End of Year Sale includes a substantial collection dedicated to Diverse Reads, comprised of titles from OverDrive's curated Diverse Lists.
- For your front-end audit work (and for your own reading pleasure), check out two community-sourced book lists from the Community of Literary Magazines and Publishers. Both are heritage-month aligned, but these titles can and should be spotlighted throughout the year:
- Inspired by this month's featured resource (see below): one way to empower your community when it comes to collection development is to facilitate opportunities for community members to spotlight their own favorite authors through reviews, displays, or booklists all year long. Have you or has your library co-created/co-curated reviews, displays, or booklists alongside community partners or with individual community members? We invite you to share how you made it happen in the comments.
Resource or Tool of the Month
InfoBase, in partnership with OverDrive, presented a webinar titled Beyond Heritage Months: Strategies for Authentic Collection Inclusion All Year. The first twenty minutes or so of the webinar feature Dr. Audrey Barbakoff with a discussion of different approaches to inform, engage, and empower communities through collection development work every day (with implications for library work more broadly) and also things to avoid to not cause harm, even by mistake, to marginalized communities. Catch the recording of the webinar here.

We encourage you to comment on this and other modules, add YOUR tips and suggestions, or email us with ideas for future modules. We are excited to hear from and learn from you! Find the complete toolkit here.
