5.12 - Nominations Committee

2026-2027 Slate of Officers and Directors

In accordance with Article V, Section 4(B) of the AIBD Bylaws, the Nominating Committee is mandated to nominate at least one candidate for each elected office for the upcoming term.

Currently, the Secretary position is vacant, and we have two additional candidates beyond the incumbent directors seeking to return, bringing the total to seven director nominees.

The committee is exercising its authority under Article V, Section 4(D) of the Bylaws. While the submittal period for member petitions closed on April 30, the Bylaws explicitly allow the Nominating Committee to announce its selections on a "later date."

The Committee is vetting each nominee to ensure they are Professional Members in good standing, as required by the governing documents, and is confirming each individual's willingness to serve. To ensure the operational stability of the Institute and full representation across all constitutional offices, the Committee has taken the following actions:
  • Secretary Vacancy: To address the vacancy in the Secretary position, the Committee is reaching out to the qualified Professional Members originally filling a Director role to fill this critical officer seat.
  • Director Nominations: In addition to the incumbent directors, the slate will include:
    1. One Nominee by Petition, having met the requirements of Article V, Section 4(C) of the Bylaws by the April 30 deadline.
    2. One Nominating Committee Nominee, selected by the committee to join the official slate under our independent nominating authority.
Per Section VI(A)(2)(c) of the Standing Book of Rules, the final slate will be forwarded to the national office for publication to the general membership by May 30.

Respectfully Submitted,
Benjamin Tabolt, Chair
AIBD Nominating Committee
