Agenda & Minutes for 11/22 Task Force meeting
Week 1 testing:
- Move reports: do we have a good handle on what they mean? Mostly - but we will recommend that campuses go through their reports very closely to make sure that each collection is activated as it should be. We're still waiting for answers to our questions with Ex Libris. The move report will also provide campuses with an opportunity to deactivate OA content that they might not have realized was active in their PCI.
- Google doc - working as a place to track? Didn't explicitly discuss this, but probably yes?
- NA collections and what will happen with them. "Should" be automatically updated at each campus for their NA collections, as collections are added to Alma. Review of ESC's NA collections showed them to be mostly OA collections which weren't in Alma.
- Communication with Ex Libris - are we turning in report to them? Will explore.
Outstanding Move Report Questions:
- How is alternative coverage going to work for EBSCO?
- Nancy's question about percentage of coverage that could be done in Summon - can it be done in CDI?
- Does suppressing the collection bib record affect activation?
- Why are we getting duplicate collections where one is active for search and one is activated for full-text, i.e. why didn't search in CDI get put on already active full-text collection?
- Once all of the CDI tags are set for things that have a CDI collection, will those collections not in the CDI be marked with CDI = No, or will they have no tags at all?
- Why aren't we seeing "not active for search" filters in our collection lists yet? And why isn't it working right at Broome?
- Because of merged records, will subscription search collections like Scopus now be available for us to search in CDI? Or are we still limited to free search collections?
- When EL says that content will be available in 24-48 hours, does that just mean holdings publishing? What is the timeline to see indexing/searches available for newly activated CDI search collections?
- Why are UB searches not showing any CDI content for articles yet?
Let's see if some of the outstanding Basecamp questions get answered by Monday before posting new questions.
Week 2 testing:
- CDI Operator role
- What to check and where to track it
- We didn't get into details on this but agreed that we feel comfortable moving into next phase of testing, though we'd like answers to our questions sooner rather than later.
Other: open discussion about how we're feeling, check in on timeline, etc. Agreed to cancel 11/29 meeting for the Thanksgiving holiday. Will continue to communicate on Basecamp.
