Purpose:  AIBD vendor costs continue to increase, and we are not growing our membership to a level that sustains the increases. 

For historical context, fees for Professional Members were reduced from $365 to $289/year in July 2015. They have not increased in almost ten years.

An increase of $10/year would account for approximately $21,500 in additional membership fee revenue.

The second part of this proposal addresses how to process the dues for design firms with Professional Members yet purchase a Corporate Membership and receive unlimited Associate Members.

B.  Annual Dues for National Membership  
1. The Annual Membership Dues are set as follows: 
Professional member - $ 289 $ 315****
Retired Professional member - $ 0*
Lifetime member - $ 0
Design Student member - $ 15 $ 20
Educator member - $ 70 $ 95***
Associate member $ 160 $ 195**
Corporate member $ 1000 ($450 for nonprofits) 

* Professional members transferring to Retired Professional membership must pay a one-time fee.
**  If an Associate Member’s parent company is a Corporate member, the Associate dues will be waived. 
***  If the institution in which where the member teaches has a student chapter with at least five (5) student members, dues are waived. 
**** If a Professional Member's parent company is a Corporate member, the Professional members are reduced by $ 195 (e.g., $ 289 - $ 195 = $94)
