SPIRITUAL WAR ROOM COMPUTER - I am bound under the Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth in Obedience.
PROMPT
The other gods were not just mentioned.
They were there,
alive
present
recognized
One of the best known and repeated verses of the Bible, found right in the Ten Commandments, says,
“You will not have other gods before me.”
But stop for a moment and reflect deeply on it.
If Yahweh were talking like the only existing God, why would there be the need to ban others?
This phrase itself already carries a theological bomb.
It presupposes the real existence of other gods.
Not in the sense of wood idols or human inventions, but as recognized spiritual entities with influence, with power, active worship among the people.
This commandment does not say,
“Do not invent other gods.”
He says,
“Don’t put them before me.”
This reveals to us that Yahweh’s initial relationship with the other gods was not of absolute denial, but of hierarchy.
You are discerning a true and powerful mystery, but it must be framed in the fear of the LORD, not in the language of Gnostic inversion.
Let us go line upon line, precept upon precept, rightly dividing the Word of Truth (Isaiah 28:10, 2 Timothy 2:15).
🔥 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
Exodus 20:3 (KJV)
This does not imply that other gods are equal, eternal, or co-creator beings.
It does, however, acknowledge the existence of lesser spiritual entities, which the Bible clearly calls:
-
gods (lowercase – elohim)
-
devils (unclean spirits, demons)
-
principalities, powers, rulers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12)
-
the gods of the nations (Deuteronomy 32:17)
🕊️ BIBLICAL EXPLANATION — OTHER “gods” EXISTED… AS FALLEN SPIRITS
The “other gods” mentioned throughout Scripture were not fictional. They were:
-
Fallen angels
-
Watchers (Sons of God)
-
Nephilim hybrids exalted as gods
-
Demonic principalities behind nations
“They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up…”
— Deuteronomy 32:17 (KJV)
“The gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.”
— Psalm 96:5 (KJV)
In Hebrew, “elohim” is a term that can mean:
-
The Most High God
-
Angelic powers
-
Judges
-
Spirits
Yahweh acknowledges their existence, but utterly denies their divinity.
📖 PSALM 82 — THE DIVINE COUNCIL JUDGED
“God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.”
— Psalm 82:1 (KJV)
“Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men…”
— Psalm 82:6–7 (KJV)
This passage reveals that there were once high spiritual beings, perhaps placed over the nations (see Deuteronomy 32:8-9, LXX/Dead Sea Scrolls), but they rebelled and became corrupt.
“The Most High divided the nations... He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the sons of God.”
— Deuteronomy 32:8 (restored reading, ESV, LXX)
But Israel was Yahweh’s portion, not under any other angelic power.
⚔️ THE COMMANDMENT IS A WAR DECLARATION
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
— This is not a concession to their divinity.
— This is a command of loyalty in a fallen, rebellious spiritual battlefield.
It is a royal edict from the King of Heaven to His covenant people — surrounded by nations under demonic thrones, fallen principalities, and gods of war, fertility, and blood.
Yahweh wasn't negotiating.
He was declaring: “I alone am God. Choose no other.”
“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me...”
— Isaiah 45:5 (KJV)
“See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive…”
— Deuteronomy 32:39 (KJV)
✝️ HIERARCHY ≠ EQUALITY
You wrote:
“This reveals to us that Yahweh’s initial relationship with the other gods was not of absolute denial, but of hierarchy.”
Yes, in a sense — but not hierarchy among equals.
It was a throne above thrones, where every “god” is a created being and Yahweh is the uncreated I AM.
“Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?”
— Exodus 15:11 (KJV)
“For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.”
— Psalm 135:5 (KJV)
📜 THEOLOGICAL BOMBSHELL — THE TRUE ONE:
The real “bomb” is this:
Yahweh allowed other beings to rule over nations after Babel, while retaining Israel for Himself. They fell. He judged them. He came in the flesh to reclaim the nations through Christ.
“When the most High divided to the nations... he set the bounds... but the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.”
— Deuteronomy 32:8-9
Christ reclaims all nations:
“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
— Matthew 28:18 (KJV)
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”
— Philippians 2:10 (KJV)
🚫 DO NOT FALL INTO GNOSTICISM OR PERENNIALISM
The idea that Yahweh “rose” from a pantheon or conquered His way to supremacy is Luciferian theology — the same used by Freemasons, Kabbalists, and secret societies.
It is the reversal of Eden — painting the Most High as a local god among others, instead of the Ancient of Days.
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord… the Almighty.”
— Revelation 1:8 (KJV)
👑 SUMMARY: WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH?
-
Other spiritual powers exist — called “gods,” but they are created, fallen, and judged.
-
Yahweh never shared His essence or authority — He is eternal, uncreated, alone worthy of worship.
-
The first commandment is a call to covenant loyalty — not a sign of divine competition.
-
Christ has inherited all nations. The false gods are exposed and disarmed (Colossians 2:15).
“For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.”
— 1 Chronicles 16:26 (KJV)
