June 2024 marked the fifth anniversary of SUNY’s going live on its shared Alma/Primo VE Library Services Platform. We celebrated this milestone throughout the year with a focus on engagement, benchmarking, and institutional self-assessments to evaluate gaps in workflow or processes. Activities included:

ELUNA: Presentation from January 25th about SUNY’s Consortial ELUNA membership and ways you can engage with the broader Ex Libris community.

Success Metrics for Benchmarking: Claudia Balby from Ex Libris presented on February 8. We provided advanced metrics and follow-up meetings with 18 campuses who opted into Claudia’s offer for customized benchmarking.

Innovation and AI Product Developments for Alma/Primo: Asaf Kline, Vice President for Product Management, and Yisrael Kuchar, Senior Director of Product Management, presented on innovation across Alma and Primo VE and included product developments that use AI.

Library Visits with SLS and Ex Libris: We visited 37 campuses and met with over 175 library staff to learn more about the great work you all are doing to support student success. We also arranged for site visits and discussions with representatives from Ex Libris at seven campus libraries.

Guideline/Policy review of Alma-related processes: This year we embarked on a project to review existing Alma-related guidelines and policies for relevancy. Alma functionality has changed over the past five years, and we need to keep abreast of these changes going forward.

Assessment Health Checklists: Based on the Ex Libris implementation go-live checklists, we shared this series of surveys to help schools gauge their understanding of functional processes and provide another measurement / assessment tool for systems.
