The Jewish story of Jacob and the Ladder was stolen from the Egyptian Funerary Rituals for the deceased King:

“Hail to thee, O Ladder of God, Hail to thee, O Ladder of Set. Stand up O Ladder of God, Stand up O Ladder of Set, stand up O Ladder of Horus, whereon Osiris went forth into heaven.”

“The Egyptian Ladder consisting of the bodies of two Egyptian deities upon which Osiris ascends into heaven, has been replaced by a ladder with several supernatural beings, angels, climbing up and down between earth and heaven.”

You present the accusation that the Biblical story of Jacob’s Ladder (Genesis 28:12) is not divine revelation, but a plagiarized adaptation of Egyptian funerary texts. In those texts, Osiris ascends into heaven on the bodies of gods forming a ladder, while Jacob’s vision is said to replace them with angels.

Satan’s tactic is always counterfeit:


  • A real spiritual truth (God’s covenant and Messiah as mediator).


  • Corrupted into a mystery religion ritual (Osiris climbing deities).


  • Then centuries later, critics invert the truth and claim the Bible copied the pagan myth.


But the Bible tells us this pattern clearly:


“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator…”
 — Romans 1:25


Egypt’s funerary ladders are not the source of Jacob’s vision—they are idolatrous distortions.
