The work by this figure indeed looks like AI-autogenerated garbage.
I came across David Ewing a long time as well, it's probably just an attempt to turn bot-writing into money.
All you need is to look at the book covers.
"He" auto-translates all of his auto-generated books into literally any bigger language, including German, polluting the web.
The books themselves are often low-effort collections of images.
I am not even sure the images on the covers are true photographs, probably just photoshopped on a background.
They just paid him to pose in different styles, and then combined it with generic photos of famous places.

The website Xirtus Tartary Nova by Xirtus appears to be similar in spirit and style as what is promoted by "David Ewing".
The guy who claims he is Ewing has a British accent.
Whether the voice is real or some kind of AI, remains to be seen, but after listening to it again, it seems it's actually a real British guy who presents himself as Ewing.

It is in fact a great lesson in online awareness for people who research our kind of subjects.
I've noticed it years ago and it puzzles me how nobody calls it out.
The character's profile posts in various groups and forums, presenting itself as a researcher with dozens of books about alternative history.
All their material and titles are copied from content of actual researchers and rearranged probably through automatic AI programs.
The "books" have an obvious, classic impression of a honeypot: data mining and social engineering operation.
Unfortunately, it goes unnoticed, and usually admins do not ban the profile.
The books are translated into more than 10 languages.
Every post this profile makes, is backed by 100+ replies from hijacked profiles that ask "David" to send them the advertised book.
He then replies to all that they'll get a .pdf version in a PM.
This is of course to lure real profiles into writing the same request. The .pdf file is 99% infected with a tracking mechanism or virus of sort.
The profile has been active for years(!) and you won't find any real conversation with that character, nonetheless it is highly active and now has an external YT channel that posts content for it.
For the character itself the fakers used a Malaysian actor dressed in a suit, and pictured him in various places in the world, such as the Kremlin (for the "tartaria" meme).
What's the purpose of the operation and who does it?
Could be anyone.
The goal might be to build deep profiling of people in "truther communities", or to learn the prevailing content through AI.
It also might be about getting to certain individuals in the communities and infiltrating their devices.

I think the character here was at first a "stock character" which didn't have a specified purpose.
When the character was first introduced, "he" got accepted for a high ranking job in CCTV, Chinese Central Television.
Back then, there was a YouTube video shot at the occasion in the photo below.
In the video the character spoke uncharismatically, about how he's glad to join CCTV and spoke some nonsense.
The video was later removed, but the photo is a remnant.
Unsurprisingly, there are other suspected characters in the "tartaria sphere".
I'll not go into names, probably many of you saw it.
The template is repetitive:
An attractive woman with 1 photo of her own and 100000 photos with "truther memes" of sort.
They usually post entire articles into social groups and have a huge number of followers.
It can be also a man sometimes, but usually a woman, probably to get men in those communities to talk to them in private and then who knows what.
If there's a need for it, we can create a space here for outing bots and fake channels.
The problem is I personally wouldn't want it to descend into a "who's the shill" kind of thing, when it comes to real content creators.
However, as many people in the world look to this forum for information, even non-members, they should know where to mind their steps and know who is "burned", like "Ewing".

I've observed his form of propaganda for a while now via Xirtus.
Aewer and Wooden Nickels have theorized that the overload and uncensored promotion of the Tartarian hypothesis (compared to geocentric based research videos for example) is definitely being promoted heavily on all platforms, possibly in an effort to make people especially in our community lose respect for our ancestors in the west and cast doubt on their ingenuity and know how.
Such malfeasance only serves to benefit the Chinese regime in years to come when TPTB assign them as the next "superpower".
